Most people do small home repairs themselves. Please take a few minutes and review some safety tips.
- Before going up on the roof, walk around your house and move any objects that are lying around by your house. If you should slip you don't want to fall on a lawn mower or shovel or rake!
- Look at the areas you will be working and note any low spots in the decking. This could be some weak or rotted wood and if you walk on it you may fall through your roof!
- Make sure that your ladder is safely secured on level ground. Always tie your ladder off if you can. This will keep it from sliding sideways and throwing you to the ground.
- If your roof is wet or looks damp you might want to wait a while. If you step on a wet roof chances are you will slip and off the roof you go!
- If you lay your material or tools down and they start sliding don't run after them! If you catch them you will most likely keep sliding!
These are your basic safety tips. There are lots more!Always keep safety in mind. The last thing you want to do is fall and severely injure yourself.
If you have any thought or concerns about what you are doing please contact me and I will be glad to walk you through it.
Thanks,
